After having a few informal discussions, with several members of the class, I got the impression that I wasn't the only one frustrated with our Econometrics computer sessions. I contacted Mr Frain earlier in the term and suggested we would prefer more interactive lessons that would involve greater class participation rather than passive learning.
There has been no change in the style of the lessons since my email, so I decided to contact Dr Walsh. I have subsequently had a discussion with him and with Franco. Franco and Mr Harrison will discuss the issue with Mr Frain, and hopefully get back to us. I emphasised that it is the style of teaching, rather than the teacher, that some of us have a problem with. I would love to get your comment on this matter, to ensure that I am representing the general sentiment of the class and not just my personal opinion.
Regarding the Econometrics project, Franco says that we should have specific details early next week. His section of the project will focus on replicating a study. Mr Harrison will also set part of the project.
